About

Nestled twenty miles downstream from the Falls of the Brazos, Izzo Pecan Farms graces the west bank of this historic waterway, marking the frontier’s natural crossing and the 19th-century steamboat traffic boundary.

Spirited by Aldo Leopold’s wisdom, “Acts of creation are ordinarily reserved for gods and poets, but humbler folk may circumvent this restriction if they know how. To plant a pine, for example, one need be neither god nor poet; one need only own a shovel.” (A Sand County Almanac and Sketches Here and There).

Beginning in 2006, our journey with Izzo Pecan Farms has flourished from a single act of planting to managing an expanse of 300 pecan trees. With every passing year, we are filled with delight as our trees robustly mature, providing our customers with the finest quality pecan kernels. The appreciation for Izzo Pecans has grown alongside our trees, driven by our consumers’ recognition of the exceptional taste and quality of our nuts.

Commitment to Health and Nutrition

Beyond the shade of our trees lies a broader mission: to underscore the significant health benefits of consuming fresh nuts. Research, including findings from the International Nut Council and Loma Linda University, highlights the profound impact that nuts, particularly pecans, can have on overall health. Our pecans not only offer a delightful taste but also carry remarkable health advantages:
  • Tree nut consumers are 25% less likely to be obese.
  • A 21% lower chance of having an elevated waist circumference was observed in tree nut consumers compared to those who do not consume tree nuts.
  • Pecans have been shown to lower cholesterol levels more effectively than some commonly prescribed medications.
  • The antioxidants present in pecans play a crucial role in preventing heart disease and other diseases.

At Izzo Pecan Farms, our roots are deeply embedded not just in the land we cultivate but in the lofty ideals of the environment. “About Izzo Pecan Farms” reflects more than the history of the land and focuses on the enrichment of the future.

Our story continues to unfold, guided by a compass of sustainability, health, and the unending joy of sharing something as simple yet profound as a pecan.
